Ruben R. Muego was appointed Schutzhund Judge by the German Shepherd Dog Federation of the Philippines on August 5, 2008.
Breeder of German Shepherd dogs for more than 30 years and owner of the registered kennel name " vom brennenbusch". He is the founding President of Cebu GSDA, the first and oldest affiliate club of GSDF. He was also the Training Director for both Schutzhund and Conformation of the Cebu GSDA. Ruben has
judged in Philippine Landesgruppen Sieger shows including one occasion where he judged in tandem with Herr Mario Magsaysay.
He is an 18 year veteran member of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America, a Weltunion Der Vereine für Deutsche Schaferhunde (WUSV) member. He has distinguished himself as the first and only Filipino, probably the first Asian to breed and train two German Shepherd dogs from SchH1 to SchH3, Krysta vom Brennenbusch, SchH3, KKL1a and Brandon vom Brennenbusch SchH3 KKL1a. He also personally handled both dogs in their breed surveys under Koermeisters Herr Wilfred Scheld and Herr Frank Goldlust of Germany. Both dogs passed and were rated KKL1a. He also trained Bilka vom Haus Lobenswert to SchH1 and Herzog vom Blitzstrahl to BH.
On Aug 23, 2014, he handled his dog, Jango von Haus Borgia in a Schutzhund trial and successfully passed the degree of IPO1. This is the very first dog to have passed the IPO1 in the Philippines. All of his trained German Shepherd dogs passed their Schutzhund examinations under both SV and USA judges.
In the United States, Ruben has competed in many conformation shows including the
USCA Sieger shows. His highest achievement in Conformation was when he handled V Brandon vom Brennenbusch SchH3 KKL1a under Gaiting and TSB competition of the 2005 United Schutzhund Clubs of America Sieger show in Reno, Nevada USA and placed V16 out of 55 working class male entries. Brandon was his own dog and breeding, raised and trained from puppy until he attained the titles of BH, SchH 1,2,3.
He is a member of the prestigious United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USCA) Schutzhund 3 club and was inducted in the year 2000, in honor of those members that have accomplished training and titling their dogs from BH to SchH3.
